Brooklyn Heights
Brooklyn Heights is one of New York City's most beautiful and enjoyable tourist attractions. Robert Fulton’s ferry service marked the beginning of the development of Brooklyn Heights. His ferry service was one of the best connectors and Manhattan had prior to the Bridges.

Because of Robert Fulton residential communities began to come into existence in the 1820s. These communities include the bastions of Brooklyn history: the brownstone houses. These houses would become national landmarks after Brooklyn Heights’ brownstone community was declared a historic district.
The Promenade in Brooklyn Heights offers a magnificent view of the sunset that one will never forget. Brooklyn Heights is also home to Brooklyn's only state park, the Fulton Ferry State Park. This unique park offers a scenic view from beneath the Brooklyn Bridge at the Brooklyn anchorage. The homes in Brooklyn Heights show an array of varied architecture. Atlantic Avenue, which separates Brooklyn Heights from Cobble Hill offers an enchanting selection of antiques in stores along the avenue. The avenue is also known for its exquite cusine featuring a taste for any palette. Restaurants in the area include Middle Eastern, French, Mexican, Cajun and Carribean Food. Brooklyn Heights is also home to St. Ann's Church.

Park Slope

With the majestic arch of Grand Army Plaza as its northern gate and Prospect Park serving as its massive backyard, Park Slope is one of Brooklyn’s treasured neighborhoods. Prospect Park, stretching over 500 acres, is one of this neighborhood’s most impressive attributes. . Created by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, the very same men who designed Central Park, the park provides residents and visitors with an endless amount of things to do.

Whether its riding the one-of-a-kind carousel, enjoying the wildlife of Prospect Park Zoo, taking in the historical aspects of the many monuments, or simply biking the interior, people make the most out of the many activities Prospect Park has to offer.

Park Slope is a neighborhood rich with history. During the Revolutionary War, a few significant altercations took place within the modern-day borders of the park. Furthermore, a few blocks away from one of the park’s entrances marks the spot believed to be the grave of the Maryland regiment. With monuments and even the famous brownstone houses dating back over a century ago, Park Slope is a modern neighborhood in an old-fashioned setting.

Chic stores and urban coffee houses are intertwined with old churches, like that of the First Reformed Church, and huge mansions exemplifying the old styles of architecture. With learning centers like the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Public Library, Park Slope is a very cultural neighborhood embracing both the past and the present.

Stretching from Prospect Park all the way to the Gowanus Canal, Park Slope is a large and vibrant area of Brooklyn. Packed with historical places like the Quaker Cemetery and the Litchfield mansion, the mid-19th century home of the original land-owners, Park Slope is a neighborhood that adds a great deal to the incredible allure of the city. Right in the heart of everything, with easy access to public transportation and only minutes away from Manhattan, Park Slope is a kind of suburban setting in the midst of the most urban place in the world: New York City. People flock to the Slope to get away from the bustle of the city and enjoy a quiet peaceful residence with such a beautiful park at its heart.

 

DUMBO

Don’t let the odd acronym “DUMBO” fool you, for it’s simply a clever little way to categorize a thriving neighborhood Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. Situated between the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges, DUMBO can be characterized as Brooklyn’s up and coming response to Manhattan’s East Village.

With cobblestones coating every street and unique art galleries on every corner, people are flocking to this growing area. Fantastic views of the skyline right on the waterfront border DUMBO, eloquently adding to its appeal. Once a shipping district, DUMBO had been composed mostly of warehouses and shipping yards. Today, those very same warehouses are being transformed into spacious condos and lofts for the likes of artists, major companies, and even families.

After the completion of the new Brooklyn Bridge Park, situated right on the river with dozens of exciting things for children to enjoy, DUMBO’s family population is estimated to make a rapid increase. DUMBO has also become home to dozens of new boutiques and bistros that can only add to the allure of this neighborhood on the rise. In addition, both the F and the A trains make the area very easily accessed and make travel to Manhattan a very quick and simple trip, a very important factor in the life of a New Yorker.

Overall, Down Under the Manhattan Bridge is a beautiful area that has just recently embarked on a rebirth. With transformations happening left and right, DUMBO is expected to make an incredible comeback. With a new park in the works, stores coming into the area in great abundance, spectacular views of the skyline, and incredible apartments under construction, DUMBO is bound to be bustling in no time. Its rich history and restored splendor can only add to the magnetism of the great city of Brooklyn.
